Gold Business Machines Ltd. is something of
a Winnipeg pioneer, having introduced the first
multifunctional, digital products to the Winnipeg
marketplace.
The company, winner of a Consumers’ Choice Award
in the category of copy machine sales and services,
prides itself on a team effort based on a philosophy of
having great people striving to exceed — not just meet
— customer expectations.
The firm prides itself not on just selling equipment
but on selling solutions for modern business printing
and copying needs, offering quality products that can
save clients both time and money.
This commitment to providing quality products and
sterling service is the cornerstone of its philosophy,
says President Shaun Horan, who helped establish the
company in 1996 with just five employees.
Mr. Horan says clients don’t want to worry about
fixing equipment. They want a reliable product, along
with a prompt service company that can be trusted to
make sure everything works well.
Today, Gold Business Machines Ltd. has 50 on staff
and its range of clients includes both large and small
companies, including blue chip clients such as the The
North West Company, the universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg, Wellington West Capital Inc. and the City of
Winnipeg.
Besides the Winnipeg head office, the company also
has branches in Brandon, Regina, Kelowna, Vernon and
Kamloops.
Mr. Horan says the Consumers’ Choice award is a
terrific recognition of the role of his high calibre staff,
whether they be in sales, service or administration.
Their teamwork has allowed the company to become
the largest independent office equipment dealer in the
province.
“Our local sales and service networks are at the top
of their class in customer satisfaction and support,” he
says. “When you make an investment in a Gold Business
Machines Ltd. digital office product, you’ll receive sales,
administrative and service support from a company
that makes customer satisfaction it’s first priority.”
Mr. Horan is proud of their Kyocera line of
equipment, noted for its reliability, economy and
environmental friendliness.
“As far as I know, they have the only line of laser
printers that don’t use traditional cartridges,” he says.
“Their printers use far fewer throwaway parts and are
good for both the environment and the bottom line.”
He says he recently sold one Kyocera printer to a
local dentist who prints about 15,000 pages a month.
“The machine will save him at least $150 monthly because it prints fast and
without expensive cartridge change technology.”
The Kyocera KM-8030 delivers 80 pages per minute with the first standard
200-sheet dual scan document processor — one of many productivity enhancements
for today’s demanding office market.
Kyocera was named Printer Manufacturer of the Year by Marketing Research
Consultants Inc. of New Jersey in late July. The company also won the same award in
the previous two years.
Winners of the award are chosen based on reactions of independent office
equipment dealers across North America.
